  1. We're here to help and make life easier.

No-one can expect you to become a print expert overnight. So we've added links that will lead you to the right information to set up and format your artwork. We've also compiled some of our most commonly asked questions with relevant answers to bind your projects (and knowledge) together.

  1. What Is bleed?

Bleed is the portion of your artwork file at the very edge that extends beyond the trim lines. The bleed area will be cut off in the printing process.

When having something professionally printed, multiple pages are printed on one larger sheet of paper, and then that printed paper is trimmed into individual page spreads (or brochures, or posters, etc.). When your artwork spans the entire size of your page, if you do not have a bit extra that you expect to be cut off (the bleed), you might end up with a white edge appearing on the trim line of the finished piece.

It's important that any backgrounds or images that touch the edge of the printed piece 'bleed' outside of the trim line to make sure that when it's trimmed after print there is no risk of a white edge appearing on the finished piece.

We advise 3mm bleed on all artwork.

  2. Which file types can I upload?

We prefer a single PDF file made up of multiple pages, but we like to be as flexible as possible, which is why you can upload your files with us as single or multi-page PDF, JPG, PNG, Postscript, MS Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Lotus or Excel file.

For the best results, make sure that your colours are in CMYK and that your images that are between 150 – 300dpi (dots per inch).

  3. Should I upload single pages or spreads?

Our system prefers single pages with a 3mm bleed all around. If you have any issues, please get in touch and our team will be able to help.
